Educating the Public About Their Rights

The Consumer Advocacy Division educates consumers and their families about their rights, including access to treatment services. This information is provided in a number of ways, including through new employee orientations and through the monitoring of treatment facilities to ensure compliance with treatment standards.

Increasing Staff Knowledge of Consumer Rights

The Advocacy division also works with representatives of the Oklahoma Disability Law Center and the Oklahoma Consumer Council to increase the awareness of consumer rights among its employees. This is done through employee orientation programs and through participating in a number of training sessions throughout the year.

Developing a Digital Planet Proof Consumer Policy

The digitalization of the world is causing many challenges for the consumer. It has been argued that these challenges need to be addressed by a global consumer protection regime that combines issues of law, governance and trade.
